Tech news website XDA-Developers said an AI PC is a computer with a Neural Processing Unit inside its CPU. 

An NPU is specifically designed to handle AI programs. They perform 10 times more calculations per second than traditional CPU cores.

AI PCs enable you to run large language models and other AI programs locally. That means they will likely allow you to use artificial intelligence without an internet connection.

Microsoft is the first to announce its upcoming AI-powered computers called Copilot+ PCs. As the name suggests, it will have the AI chatbot Copilot built in along with these other AI apps:

Microsoft says Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo and Samsung will launch their Copilot+ PCs on June 18, 2024. Until then, we can only speculate on their real-life capabilities.
